Flickr: The Help Forum: Surge in direct traffic: why?

'Direct traffic' is traffic coming from a place whose address can't be ascertained. The most common of those is a feeds reader, but it may be almost anything: p.e. someone just typing the address in the browser's address bar or clicking a link in a page stored in a local disk.
